The party was GREAT
Heroes and Villains took place on Oct 30, 2015 at the Outaouais Golf Club in Rockland, and it was amazing. I took over 350 pictures of costumed folks in the photo booth – follow the links below to see them. I had a great time, and hope to do it again next year! Drop me a line if you’re interested in hiring Open Shutter to do a photo booth or regular event photography… this is what we do.
You are allowed to use the photos for personal use, but please don’t alter the watermark without asking me first. And please give credit. If you want to sell these images, I am super happy to discuss some sort of profit sharing scheme. Talk to me!

So this is the first time I do a photo shoot for charity – man that was fun. Hope I can do it again soon.
The 501st Capital City Garrison was on hand at the Capital Gaming Expo‘s garage sale to raise money for Tysen’s Mission To A Million – and took some photos of Tysen himself, receiving his Yoda outfit.
We took shots of anyone who wanted to pose with Darth Vader, Supergirl, Elsa, Captain America and Temari (I could be wrong about Temari – I am no Naruto expert).
So without further ado… check out the photos!

Nikko Marie Cosplay, editor of Cos Culture Magazine, accepted a One Day Cosplay Challenge in which she created a complete cosplay – in this case an original Druid. The costume makes use of Worbla, a thermoplastic material that is shaped with a heat gun, then painted.
Nikko may or may not have taken slightly longer than a day to pull this outfit together, but by all accounts – it was close to a day.
We went to the bike path not from from where I live in Aylmer, Quebec, and used the woods and riverbank of the Ottawa river to take the shots. We started at dawn and worked until about 10:30 am – it was a long, hot morning but we got some AMAZING shots.
Give me a shout if you are interested in getting a shoot of your own!
The shoot is here on my Facebook page!

Convention Photo Shoots – In my Booth
Aside from the video and stills I will be shooting for Cos Culture Magazine, I’m doing my standard convention booth gig – double booth with lights and a backdrop, basic Photoshop included, high res images upladed to Dropbox within a few days – $20.00 for three finished shots. Drop in any time during the convention! Why would you come to us for photos? Because we’re good, and because our tethered shooting setup shows you the images on a large screen as soon as they are shot!
Studio Photo Shoots
I have also booked a suite across the street from the convention centre; if you are interested in a full-on studio experience, give me a shout and we’ll talk price.

Montreal Comiccon is over for another year.
I want to thank Nikko Marie of Cos Culture Magazine for having Catherine and I at her booth.
I want to recognize Spider Inferno Cosplay and UndeaDu, our neighbours, for their awesome work over the week-end. Anyone who says cosplayers don’t work hard have never watched cosplayers working to earn back their booth, travel and accommodation costs, not to mention trying to turn a profit. Kudos to you.
I am looking forward to working with you folks at the next one. I uploaded at least one image to Facebook from every set I took at the con. Tag yourselves! Enjoy! And thanks for the good times!
We will be going to G-Anime (on Sunday July 19th) and Otakuthon (August 7-8-9).

Cosplayers, if you are going to Ottawa Comiccon, and you want some free photos… drop me a line.
We noticed that our business is much, much better when cosplayers actively seek out customers and direct them to our booth for a photoshoot. I’m going to reach out to some cosplayers that I know to see if they would like to exchange free photo shoots for a little help handing out flyers at OCC, but if you are going to OCC, have a nice cosplay, and want to work something out with me… drop me a line! And of course, I’m always offering revenue sharing if you get pics taken in my booth with members of the general public.
2015 Ottawa Geek Market
Had a TON of fun at the Spring Geek Market… can’t wait until the next one! Click on the links below for access to the photos taken at this event.
Our new service, printing 4×6 photos, was a huge hit. We had Cinderella and Cruella in our booth on the week-end (cosplayed by the talented and beautiful Sara Hunter) – kids were very happy (Cinderella) and/or terrified (Cruella) to pose for a printed photo.

All of the photos taken at the Geek Market are here. If you want, I can create a personal folder for you. Just let me know.
