Capital Pride, August 25, 2024
The parade was a bit smaller this year because the organizers took a stand on the continuing genocide in Gaza - not on the side of Israel.
Here's a a short list of the groups that dropped out of sponsorship for Capital Pride: all of the Government of Canada groups, Crown Corps, the City of Ottawa, (I think) all hospitals, the Liberal Party of Canada and a few big corporations, and most banks. There were still a couple of the big bad corporations in the parade - I didn't take any pictures of those.
We biked downtown and took in the parade. There were quite a lot of pro-Palestinian supporters marching in a lot of groups, and also a lot of non-Palestinian groups showing solidarity with their plight. I was glad to see a lot of labour unions represented.
The photos presented here were taken with my old Fuji XT3 with a 27mm pancake lens.
