Montreal Comiccon, 2023
Every year, I drive to Montreal on the Saturday of Montreal Comiccon to do hall photos.
I used to get a booth at this convention, but prohibitive accommodation prices put an end to that. Historically, booth revenues were never as good in Montreal as they were at Ottawa Comiccon, while costs were more than double. I'm hoping to return to Ottawa Comiccon this September if they can find a spot to put me.
This year, the Star Wars charity/cosplay group The 501st Legion offered me an exhibitor badge in exchange for group photos and I jumped at the opportunity. Who doesn't want to take pictures of all those people with lightsabers?
It was a long day - I had clients from 10am all the way to after 5pm, with a 2.5 hour drive at each end.
But what a day it was!
